If you sign on and try one thing this week in GT7 be sure that you do your weekly "challenges." Rewards include 100k credits for completing 1 event, an additional 200k credits for completing 3 events, and a 5-star Roulette Ticket for completing all 5 events. One seems to require you to purchase the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS, but that's not so bad since it's only 340k credits which you'll earn just by completing the challenges.

Payouts have also been massively increased with Quick Races offering a lot more just for playing the game the way you normally would. There's a new money glitch that I'll tell you about at the end of the video, but if you're not collector level 50 like me you earn so much money just by completing things you've missed on the events directory. For example, getting all gold on Daytona meant a nice 2 million credit payout for my time, on top of all the silver and bronze medal rewards I had earned up to that point. And now my quick races on Daytona offer a whopping 318% payout meaning 40k credits plus a possible clean racing bump for 3 laps around the track. They've really done a good job adjusting the rewards for... just playing the game. More on that easy money glitch later though.

Beyond that, you need to take a peek at the Sophy 2.0 AI update. Not only is it an easy way to earn some fast credits, but you can try it while driving one of the new cars like my favorite, the Lexus LFA. The Sophy 2.0 AI is a little bit annoying with the emojis that are a bit distracting at first, but how the cars drive is a lot closer to what you'd expect from a real opponent. Meaning players can now get a leg up by playing the campaign before hopping into online races.

Sophy 2.0 has been activated on several tracks that are easily identified by the heart icon next to the track name.

And while you enjoy this LFA b-roll I know I mentioned a few of the new cars, but the full list includes

Hagerty Collection Cars

  • Dodge Charger R/T 426 Hemi '68
  • Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II '91
  • The NISMO 400R '95

Brand Central Cars

  • Dodge Challenger SRT Demon '18
  • Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992) '22
  • Tesla Model 3 Performance '23
  • Lexus LFA '10

Of course, I have to mention the new snow level located on Lake Louise Canada where you can pop on some snow tires from the extreme tab and go for a spin. A lot of the turns have you using the full slope so slide around the bend and get across the finish line in style.

Most of the cars and the new snow track are featured in the new intro movie which begins identical to the original that was released when GT7 launched, but we clipped the new part on IGN.com if you want to see the new shots of the NISMO, LFA and other favorites.

The cafe also has a few fun treats that unlock as you build your collection level. I just hit level 30, I know I need to work on that, but New Extra Cafe Menu items according to the official blog include

  • [Extra Menu No. 31] Collection: Road-Going Racers (Collector Level 30 and above)
  • [Extra Menu No. 32] Collection: Lexus (Collector Level 34 and above)
  • [Extra Menu No. 33] Collection: Red Bull X Series (Collector Level 49 and above)

There are also new Master License events that I'll need to keep working toward once I finish the Normal License protocol.

The online meeting place has become the Paddock which is a fun place to interact with your fellow racers and communicate between races, on the PlayStation 5 you can now play in a 4-player split screen!

Some smaller quality-of-life changes that deserve a nod include the replay loop if you want to have one of your favorite races play forever, and some new race photo options like slower shutter speeds. Polyphony Digital also added its Tokyo office to Scapes.

I love having a dashboard to show just how much more I need to get done. I haven't played much GT7 since completing the original Cafe, but I've been a bit addicted to sim racing since Forza Motorsport launched and 1.40 was a great reason to jump back in. There is so much left for me to do in this game, and a lot of fun new stuff to dive into for players that feel like they've done everything.

-Money Glitch-

This method has been covered by YouTubers Naff, Chunky, Omega, and many others

To unlock larger payouts I'd start by getting all gold ratings for the Daytona track. You can also use this as seed money to buy the cars and upgrades we'll need.

Next, you'll need to either buy or modify an Arbath 595 which you can purchase in the used car shop, a jeep which you can buy in the Legends dealership, or VW, or even the XX will work

Other vehicles I've seen mentioned are the Suzuki Cappuccino, and Volkswagen

Step 1: Add a wide body conversion to the vehicle, and a wing if you would like better aerodynamics

Step 2: Buy a fully customizable racing transmission, Nitrous, Soft Racing Tires, and High RPM Turbocharger.

Step 3: Set your racing transmission to 250 top speed.

Step 4: Be sure to set your tires to Racing Soft.

Step 5: Be sure to set your Nitrous to 100% Output Adjustment.

For the SRT Tomahawk X VGT, you're going to make the car very slow.

Step 1: Add a Fully Customizable Racing Transmission

Step 2: Set the top speed to 500

Step 3: Click on manual adjustment and set the final drive to 5.130. The gears should be around the following speeds. 51,53,53,56,56,57,65. (alt 43,43,43,44,50,54,56) I don't think the left number needs to match mine for the big payout.

Now go to Daytona and set a custom race with the following parameters

Step 1: Set laps to as many as you can stand.

Step 2: Set the starting grid to 20.

Step 3: Set the Rolling Start Interval to 50ft

Step 4: Set Nitrous to 10x

Step 5: Set Weather to Dry

Step 6: Set Variable Time Speed Rate to 0x

Step 7: Set Rivals Selection to "From garage" and Select your Tomahawk

Step 8: Set Rivals Difficulty to Professional

Step 9: Be sure you're driving the Arbath and go make some money.

Of course, you can go in and adjust more settings or add more upgrades like Racing parts to the Arbath to make it even faster, and if you are level 50 you can do an engine swap to the K20C1 engine and your time spent on track will be even shorter. I'll do a write-up about some of the other vehicles and builds you can try over on IGN.com/wikis if you want to know more.
